Blog a day in May: Day 13

Day 13: Issue a public apology.
This can be as funny or as serious or as creative as you want it to be.

Dear friends, family and last but certainly not least Mr. F,

I'm sorry that when we Skype I can not be bothered to put on makeup, or a bra. If I'm at home I am wearing my comfies; there's no ifs, and, or buts about it! You can find me rocking my pink robe, sweat pants, and a t-shirt. I actually bring my robe with on vacation. I like to wash my makeup off just as soon as we get home (on the random days I put some on), otherwise I'm too tired to do it before bed. My brother once said "I like living together, cause we're both lazy." Sad but true. I'm a bit of a bum. I get bursts of way too much energy and take advantage of those times. But generally when I'm at home I'm chillin' like a villain. Sorry, babe. Some housewives might put on makeup and do their hair during the day. I'd rather knit, and look for a new face or hair mask on pinterest.
Not all of us can be quite as fabulous as Peggy Bundy.

Sometimes I put on makeup!
This was Friday night. I decided to get jazzy.
I curled my hair and slapped on some makeup.
It all started seemingly uneventful.
We decided to try a newly recommended pizza joint.
Our fun date night went from this....
Yay! We found the place (which was like finding a needle in a haystack)! Double yay! They have A&W! I haven't had that in nearly a year, excitement!   Then, damn it, they're too busy. We'll have to take our pizza to go. Ugh, "Let's drive somewhere with a nice view"...next "They didn't cut my pizza." Oh well, it's a date night, it's all fun and games!

Until this...
The most sun I got Saturday was from the window glaring in.
Then this!
Look at that mane! Sad panda eating oatmeal on Sunday.
Thanks to Paul for snapping this monstrosity.
I wound up with either food poisoning, or a mysterious bug.
Either way I was stuck in bed all of Saturday, and Sunday afternoon. Uncoo'.
Needless to say we will NOT be going back to that pizza place ever again.

Paul snapped a few photos of the sunrise, while I slowly, but surely ate my oatmeal.

I eventually was able to clean up my act for the Sunday markets with Amy and Charlotte.
After was Mothers Day brunch with Pauls Mum and brother.

Here's the best pic I could get of Amy and Charlottes first Mothers Day together!

Blog a day in May: Day 12

Day 12: What do you miss (a person, a thing, a place, a time in your life...)

Being on the other side of the world leaves me missing plenty of things.
But instead of whining, and getting all deep, I'll keep it light.
EDITED: I obviously miss my friends and family.
That goes with out saying. But I'm keeping this quite trivial.

What I miss:

-Coffee creamer. Like thick, yummy, multi-flavor creamer. Coffee-mate.

-Velveeta shell n cheese. Sweet nectar of the gods. I miss that deliciously terrible for me treat.

-Caribou. Nuff said.

-Driving. I drive a bit. But not much, and I really miss it. It doesn't help that I get carsick unless I'm driving. So...I get carsick a lot!

-Mayslacks. My way too often bar of choice in Northeast Mpls.

-Northeast Minneapolis. It's so good. I never took enough advantage of living in such a baller neighborhood.

-Forever 21. I went there weekly, just to look. Now all I have is online. It ain't the same.

-HBO. And all of the shows that come with having HBO.

-Target. Target here can kick rocks. They are doing Target no justice the way it is here.

-The Dollar Store. It's just so good.

-Sasha. My brothers dog. She's the best.

Blog a day in May: Day 11

Day 11: Sell yourself in 10 words or less.

My name is Meaghan, and I like to party.

This is the first image that comes to mind when I'm asked to sell myself.
If you haven't seen Hot Rod I suggest you do yourself a favor and buy it.

In all seriousness though...here we go.

Daughter, sister, aunty, girlfriend, friend, sarcastic, enthusiastic, friendly, shy, hungry!

I've been sick for the last two days & I haven't been able to eat much, ugh.

Blog a day in May: Day 10

Day 10: Most embarrassing moment(s). Spill.

As if I'm going to share my absolute most embarrassing moment!

In the words of Wayne Campbell: Chyea, right!

I'll share an embarrassing moment or two rather, and you can either like it or leave it!

In roughly 2005 I was at Spin Nightclub in Downtown Minneapolis. I wore what I thought was a very glamorous dress and heels. I somehow twisted my ankle and fell down the stairs. Anyone who's ever been there knows the stairs are the focal point of the room. The worst part is that it was actually dead. So everyone there would have seen me fall. Not only did I hurt my ego, but I also hurt my ankle.

Another embarrassing moment...

This one time I was insanely hungover. I went to valleyfair with some friends. I was forced to go on a spinny ride. I don't handle spinny rides well. I got terribly nauseous. On our drive home we had to pull over, because I had to barf! And barf I did, a lot!

Blog a day in May: Day 9

Day 9: A moment in your day (this can be just a photo or both a photo and words)

This is one of my retroactive favorite moment(s) in my day.

Paul has been working the last several Saturdays now.
It's turned into a bit of a Saturday tradition now to go out for an afternoon coffee date.
It's nice for us to take some time to just chill and enjoy each others company.
It also doesn't hurt that we found the best coffee shop in Fremantle.
quantity < quality
The coffee at the Grumpy Sailor in Freo is so delish!
The Grumpy Sailor is in a book shop, it's aesthetically pleasing & offers a cool atmosphere.

Ps: Yep, another ps for you...I'm trying to stray a bit from putting everything on facebook. I don't like  relying on facebook as a sole means of communication. I have an app called Whatsapp. It's a pretty great app, it offers free text/calls worldwide. The app is free for most people, but $1 for iphone users. I'm reaching out to some of my family/friends to download this. I'm really missing texting people lately.
I think we all rely on facebook a little too much these days.

Blog a day in May: Day 8

Day 8: A piece of advice you have for others. Anything at all.

My piece of advice is more like a trifecta as such. It comes from something my boyfriend said to me the other day. He looked at me a couple days ago and said, "You're good at being patient, tolerant, and open-minded." That has to be the best compliment I've ever gotten. It almost made me want to cry.
It is my life's work to be all of those things.

My advice to others is just that; be patient, tolerant, and open-minded (as best you can).
Do onto others as you wish to be done to you. I'm not perfect, that's for damn sure. But I do honestly try to be open-minded in most scenarios. I think we can all use a little more tolerance in our lives.

Whenever I'm feeling a bit judgmental I try to put myself in that persons shoes. Sometimes I can see their point of view, other times I can not. But the important thing is to try.

Ps: I'm going to stop sharing the link in my facebook daily.
I have a feeling some people don't like having their newsfeed clogged by my blog link.
If you're a regular follower aka my bffs/fam you can follow by email.
I have a link on the far right of the screen to follow by email.

Blog a day in May: Day 7

Day 7: The thing(s) you're most afraid of.

I'm a bit of a worry wart I must admit.

What I'm most afraid of may seem a bit ridiculous to you, but it's the truth:

1. I'm afraid of the dark. I don't like it. Until I moved in with Paul I slept with the tv on.

2. I'm afraid of mice. I haven't seen one in years. But the idea of seeing one petrifies me.

3. I'm afraid of strange noises. I'm not much of a fan of silence. I don't like hearing what I don't know.

4. I'm afraid of bugs. Cock roaches are currently at the top of that list!

5. I'm afraid of flying. Even though we're in the air about every other month.

6. I'm afraid of heights. Which basically goes hand in hand with flying.

7. I'm afraid of dead things. I jump about 10 feet if I spot a dead cat, possum, bird, etc.

8. I'm afraid of losing/breaking my glasses. I've done both and it ain't coo' to not see properly.

9. I'm afraid of bones in meat. One of the reasons I only eat fish now. I hate seeing bones in meat.

10. I'm afraid of stairs/escalators. I think I can date this back to roughly 2006. My friend Rita made me run up a down going escalator and I hurt the sh*t out of my knee. I'm literally always afraid I'm going to fall going up/down stairs.

These photos are brought to you courtesy of the cock roach I was forced to murder last week.

Don't take my fears & scare me with them. I'll straight up freak the funk out.
